Will you hold us an option whilst we gather in the deposits ?
We will hold accommodation for up to 5 working days whilst you send us
a deposit of £75 per person to secure your booking after which time the option will automatically expire unless we hear from you.
How do we pay the deposit ?
You can pay by cheque (made payable to Go-Alpine SARL),
credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or bank transfer.

In the case of extended stays (of 12 days or more)

Which airport would you recommend flying to ?
The favourite choice is Geneva airport at 2¼ hours drive.
2nd is Chambery at 1¼ hours, 3rd is Grenoble 2½ hours away and 4th is Lyon 2½ hours. However more and more people are now flying in to Chambery and we would recommend it as the closest and most convenient.
What are the transfer options and approximate prices ?
Regarding transfers there are several options:
a) Cost effective : Hire a car per 4-5 persons from holiday autoswww.holidayautos.co.uk from about £180 and we will give you detailed directions to the chalet nearer your departure date.
b) Hassle free : Return minibus transfer with our local suppliers to the chalet doorstep
from approx 96€ (£80) per person return
c) Public transport coach transfers. GVA to Bourg St Maurice approx £81
per person, LYN to Bourg St Maurice approx £85 per person, then a transfer
to resort at 30€ per person return trip (both ways).
What is the drive time from Calais ?
Approximately 9 hours with fuel and comfort breaks only.
Can you give us detailed self-drive directions to the chalet ?
Yes, either print the direction from our website or we will send you
an e-mail with directions to the chalet 2 weeks before your arrival.
What are the favourite stopovers en-route from Calais to Peisey ?
Reims, Dijon or Beaune, Aix-les-Bains and Annecy are the favourites –
for a hotel we recommend either www.ibishotel.com or www.campanile.fr
We have not driven in snow. Are the roads always clear ?
The road clearing is both frequent and efficient. Approach roads are cleared immediately but there is always a chance that heavy snow may require chains on arrival day.
Will we need snow chains ?
French advice is not to travel without them, always ask for them to
be supplied at the airport by your car hire company. Our personal advice
if you have your own car is that they are only really worth buying once
you are here and are sure to need them. They are very expensive in the UK and are available much cheaper EVERYWHERE in France both roadside and in supermarkets. Don't buy something you have only a 5% chance of needing.
Is free parking available and is it safe ?
There is ample local parking either at the chalet (Pierra-Menta 4 spaces)
or you can park at the local lift approx 250m away. All parking is free for the duration of your stay
Are the chalets ski in/ski out ?
No, neither chalet Himalaya not Pierra-Menta are sold as ski in/ski out, however when conditions are favourable accomplished skiers easily ski back
to both chalets using an off-piste track
How close are you to the nearest lift.
The local lift is 250m away from Himalaya and 400m from Pierra-Menta, which operates a courtesy minibus transfer to the lifts each morning and evening.
How far away is the après ski ?
Local bars are 800m away with a slightly more lively nightlife scene a short taxi trip (10€ return) away in Vallandry at the foot of the pistes, but if you are looking for thumping nightclubs, Go-Alpine is not for you.
Are the runs to/from the village easy enough for children ?
Yes, the runs back in to resort and the ski school cater even for beginners.
Is there a ski school in the village ?
Yes, we use the ESF ski school, which is conveniently situated at top of the lift out of the village as you arrive at the snow front.
When is our first meal on arrival day ?
On Saturdays the first meal that we guarantee is afternoon tea, available from 16:00 onwards although those arriving very early on the snowtrain are always offered breakfast.
Do you accept special requests ?
Yes, we make every effort to satisfy guest’s individual requirements, however special requests are not guaranteed.
Do you offer a lift pass service and are there any discounts ?
Yes, we have your pass ready for your arrival (so no queuing)
and we can GUARANTEE our guests cannot get the same pass cheaper anywhere
else in resort (even direct).
How much does 6 days ski/snowboard hire cost and are there discounted rates for Go-Alpine guests ?

What is the approximate cost of ski/boarding lessons ?

A private lesson for 2 hours for up to 5 persons costs 91 euros
(approx 76 GBP) for the instructor (not per person)
Do you cater for children at any time of year, or are there restrictions ?
There are restrictions. Outside the peak weeks (as indicated) children under 10 years are only accepted in groups taking the exclusive use of the chalet.
Is the resort well geared up for babies ?
The ski area is not particularly suitable for very young children under 2 years due to the lack of convenient crèche facilities for infants under 18 months old at certain times of the year.
Do you offer an early evening meal (high-tea) for children ?
Yes, we generally serve early kids meals at 18:30.
Do Go-Alpine staff live in or out of the chalets ?
All staff live out in their our own separate apartment nearby, however Cathy and I live in our own separate apartment in the same building as chalet Himalaya.
Can you cope with vegetarians and also non-fish/seafood eaters ?
Yes, no problem we stake our reputation on luxury accommodation
and first-rate cuisine tailored to your needs.
What meals are included when it says “fully catered” ?
All the cooking is done for you. Breakfast includes a hot option, fruit juices, muesli & cereals, fresh French bread, hot croissants, tea, chocolate or fresh filter coffee, conserves, yogurts, and a fruit bowl. A freshly baked cake is left out for afternoon tea. In the evening we serve a 4-course meal including starter, main course and dessert, with a local cheese board and coffee (accompanied by quality French bottled wines).

On the staff day off, breakfast is laid out the night before, afternoon tea is not served & rooms are not serviced. We book you a table at a local village restaurant for your evening meal.
Can we cook at the chalet on staff day off ?

Yes, both chalets have a separate sauna with a shower for guest
use on a Saturday arrival/departure day.
